Support and Advocacy for Transparency and Human Rights, SAATH is a legal practice that deals mostly with international corporate accountability through international whistleblower laws, criminal law, civil rights and employment discrimination. SAATH is focused on the intersecting human rights concerns in these areas servicing individuals up against large institutions – like the State or big corporations.
SAATH combines the Indian experience of working in an Indian full-service law firm and an Indian criminal defense chambers with the International legal experience of an American civil rights and whistleblower protections law firm – to harmonize the strengths of the practice of law in both jurisdictions while being mindful of the limitations of both jurisdictions.
Support and Advocacy for Transparency and Human Rights, SAATH started with the idea of focusing on certain areas of law that intersect around corporate accountability, human rights concerns, civil liberties, criminal law and public interest needs. SAATH focuses on dispute resolution through litigation, negotiation, mediation, and working with authorities to resolve whistleblower claims.
SAATH works in three primary areas of law:
Surabhi Dhar the principal of SAATH. Surabhi received her law degrees from the WB National University of Juridical Sciences, India B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and Harvard Law School (LL.M.).

SAATH is the independent legal practice of Surabhi Dhar (dual-qualified in New York, U.S.A. and in India) currently based in Delhi, India with clients primarily based in India and the U.S.A. While being a sole practice, SAATH is conscious that the social and legal process of the law is rarely an individual effort. SAATH often works with like-minded lawyers and is open to various modes of collaborations if a client or case needs it. This website is also meant to be a resource for anyone interested in understanding the landscape around whistleblower claims from India.
One of SAATH’s primary collaborations is Surabhi’s association as Of Counsel with Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, a renowned American public interest private law firm known for its experience in whistleblowers/qui tam cases and discrimination, harassment, and employment cases across the U.S. Surabhi has previously also worked at Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight’s New York office before setting up SAATH in India. Given Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight’s 20+ years’ experience in whistleblower cases, civil rights matters, as well as anti-discrimination and employment actions, this collaboration builds a strong alliance for international corporate accountability and global concerns around civil rights. All collaborators with SAATH can be found here.
